APPLICATIONS

FCW WMoLC is specially designed for repair of forging dies. Large surfaces are hardfaced with the softer FCW VMoLC to avoid cracks. Smaller areas and details that are subject to high levels of stress and abrasion are reconstituted using the harder FCW WMoLC.

The choice is a compromise between optimum hardness and the need to resist fatigue, abrasion and cracking.

Normal precautions are to be observed during welding: removal of damaged zones, preheating, correct operating temperatures and post-weld heat treatment.

Welding positions

FCW WMoLC, up to Ø 1.6 mm, is suitable for downhand as well as for positional welding by adapting transfer mode and welding parameters as for solid wires
